I’m Eric – aka „Schmiddy“, an avid motorcycle enthusiast with a deep appreciation for the art of biking.
My journey with the XJR1300 began in 2004 with a RP10 that I tuned, and it’s been an exhilarating ride ever since. That beloved RP10, with its powerful roar and classic design, became a dear companion until I passed it on to a friend in 2025. Now, I continue my adventure with the PR02.

This new project is more than just a hobby… it’s a testament to the power and elegance of the XJR1300. Through this website, I aim to share my experiences, insights, and the unique modifications I’ve made to enhance the bike’s performance and aesthetics.

What I do

I’ve got a lot of hobbies, and among them, I’ve also restored a ’65 Buick Riviera.

I’ve already tuned an XJR1300 RP10 (2004), but I wanted to customize and enhance a second XJR1300, so I chose the older model RP02 (from 2000). I aimed for something radical, focusing on performance upgrades and aesthetic modifications.
My work involves a blend of technical expertise and creative design to transform this classic motorcycle into a unique masterpiece.
Here you see the vision I had from the beginning for my project „SPARTA“ – I designed it with Photoshop – sorry for that ;-).

How I do it

My process begins with simple sketches, thorough research, and planning, ensuring every modification aligns with the bike’s inherent character. I meticulously select each component and work hands-on to achieve seamless integration. Attention to detail and a passion for perfection drive every project I undertake. For the RP02, I also brought in specialists for the tricky work, such as Erich Burkhalter – a gifted motorcycle mechanic with decades of experience – Toni Aeberhard, a very skilled panel beater and car painter, and the amazing Dawid Kaźmierkowski, who designed and welded the tail and exhaust fixation of my Bike.

Where I live

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Meikirch, Switzerland, near Bern, my home base serves as both my workshop and a haven for many motorcycle enthusiasts.
The surrounding roads provide the perfect setting to test and enjoy the full potential of the XJR1300.

But not least, cruising around there with my Riviera is also a lot of fun! 😉
